That is why his comics output from the 70s on was a rare treat. Also, to add to your effusive praise he lettered all his work, giving it another Tothian distinctiveness.keythd23https://www.blogger.com/profile/00690368680707726203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7897120082101927069.post-16103732067745568752018-06-28T12:28:32.608-04:002018-06-28T12:28:32.608-04:00The Ice Cream Man bears an uncanny resemblance to ...The Ice Cream Man bears an uncanny resemblance to Phil Silvers' character in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum."speedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08302659099571198733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7897120082101927069.post-2418177542910529272018-06-28T11:47:06.478-04:002018-06-28T11:47:06.478-04:00And I'm saying Toth used Phil Silvers as a mod...And I'm saying Toth used Phil Silvers as a model...pete doreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17004574271734256770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7897120082101927069.post-26566214049546522972018-06-28T08:08:41.215-04:002018-06-28T08:08:41.215-04:00Love Alex Toth. His layouts, storytelling, & characterizations are also magnificent. If I have only one criticism it is that he was TOO GOOD for a medium which didn't monetarily reward him as he would be with today's royalties & reprints. This was published & largely forgotten after it saw print.Alex Toth was a GENIUS who was as much an auteur as any great film maker.

Best regards,
Chris A.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7897120082101927069.post-61826479567490223262018-06-28T05:03:16.854-04:002018-06-28T05:03:16.854-04:00Thanks again.
