But the "DC Implosion" cancelled KAMANDI and 16 other DC titles from being published in Oct 1978, so the story again went unpublished, except for as about 100 poorly xeroxed pages in CANCELLED COMIC CAVALCADE that DC only did for copyright preservation purposes. I purchased a pirated version of CAVALCADE about 20 years ago, and first read "Seal Men's War on Santa Claus" in that form.

In March 1982, "Seal Men's War" finally saw print in color in BEST OF DC digest issue 22, as Groove detailed above.
It has since also been reprinted in JACK KIRBY OMNIBUS volume 2 hardcover (May 2013),
and DC UNIVERSE: THE BRONZE AGE OMNIBUS (July 2019).
In the latter two books, collected with Kirby's other 1974-1975 Sandman stories. I may well do a review if the mood strikes me.

It's a really stupid waste of already-existing resources for a company to have a completely-finished story sitting around and NOT put the book out. That's one of the FEW good things I feel Jim Shooter did during his run as editor of Marvel. When sales were thru the floor on a title, he'd tell those involved, "Okay, the book's CANCELLED, you've got 3 issues to wrap everything up." That way, no hanging plot-lines, no unfinished stories, and no unpublished, already-finished episodes. (Remember David Kraft's & George Perez' MAN-WOLF?)Henry R.
