Mining for Gold(en): "The Phantom City"

Seems like no matter how "hot" a comicbook artist would get back in the Groovy Age, somehow he'd always manage to find time to produce a few short stories for the various mystery and sci-fi mags being published. Take Michael Golden, for example. In the late 70s/early 80s, he was a blazing comet in the comicbook heavens, having made his name in Batman Family (on Man-Bat and Batman), Mr. Miracle, and of course, the Micronauts. Still, an alert fan could find a fun feature like "The Phantom City", written by Carl Wessler, which materialized in DC's Ghosts #88 (February 1980).

  2. Thanks GA for posting some rare Golden art. I missed this one in the day. His stuff is still amazing today. Shame he has done so little interior art. Nonetheless, he is probably one of the best cover artists of all time.
