Bring on the Back-ups: "The Shadows-of-Yesterday Contract" and "The Deadly Dancer Contract!" by Wein and Giordano

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Here's a double-dose of Len Wein and Dick Giordano's Human Target from Action Comics #'s 422-423 (January-February 1974).

Don't ya just love the way Giordano made Hyram Walsh look like a slimmed-down version of TV star William Conrad who was on the boob-tube as Cannon at that time?

  2. I'm ambivalent about Len Wein as a writer, but he always did decent Human Target stories. And Dick Giordano is a fine artist--it's a shame he didn't do pencils, or better yet, full art, more often. I've read something about Giordano somewhere (I can't remember where) that suggested he relied pretty heavily on photographic references, so using William Conrad as a reference makes a certain amount of sense.
