Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! What would'a been the King's 99th birthday is coming up this Sunday, so we're celebrating early with another Jack Kirby Losers masterpiece, this time from Our Fighting Forces #152 (September 1975). "A Small Place In Hell!" (inked by D. Bruce Berry) is a rip-snortin', action-packed, bullet-riddled, tension-filled journey into all-out war, via Kirby's experiences, memories, and imagination. This is some potent, criminally underrated Kirby right here, baby!

Great story! One of my favorites back in the good ol' days. I wasn't a regular reader of war comics, but I did read most of Kirby's stint with The Losers. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteI came across this little gem while goofing around in a comic store some years ago, and was completely knocked over by it. One of those rare finds that makes comic collecting fun and surprising.

Good stuff Groove. I ALWAYS felt Jack's non super hero stuff was better at this stage of his career. Cheers
