Those Groovy Saturday Mornings: More Hotwheels

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! It's been a while since we last took a ride on some Hot Wheels! Whaddya say we take a spin with a classic tale written and drawn by the master, Alex Toth? From Hot Wheels #5 (August 1970), here's "The Case of the Curious Classic"!

  1. Dear GA: What incredibly cool stuff. I loved the part where the Cord is being hauled home and Dad gives the boys the specific dope on the car regarding the innovative features. Also, you get Toth's amazing, natural, relaxed realism where the characters just seem to really live; like the way Braden smokes a cigarette near the end. Man, you can just about smell the smoke. Dang, I quite years ago, but those panels are so lifelike, it makes me yearn for a smoke! -- Mykal

  4. Oh God! Hot Wheels. I loved the cars. I loved the TV show. I loved the comics. In 4th grade I kinda started not doing home work and my teacher was standing next to my desk yelling at me and she noticed that I had drawn the Hot Wheels logo on my hand with a pen and in a loud clear voice she goes "Hot Wheels!? I'd call you "Cold Wheels"!"

I couldn't get into the bathroom and scrub it off fast enough.
