Grooviest Covers of All Time: Giving Daredevil His Due
Here's a heaping handful of frankly fabulous Daredevil covers for ya to swoon over, Groove-ophiles. Colan, Buscema, Romita, Kane, Miller, and more! Is Ol' Groove good to ya, or what?
Thanks for posting these great covers! I can remember a long time being able to buy back issues of DD & X-Men super cheap. I'm talking pre- Frank Miller & Dave Cockrum eras. I actually used to be made fun of for collecting them. Until they bought took off or made their HUGE come backs!
I was amazing working as a golpher. At a comic book/collector store in 1971-72. At the age of 10 or 11 as the janitor, stock/file boy & the golpher for the owner & teenage employees. I acquired my huge collections of DD, X-Men, Ditko Spider-Man & early Romita Spidey's that way. Man I wish I still had my collection! GGrrrr!! I even owned Tales of Suspense#39. Oh well maybe I'll win the lottery one day! Thank you for your SUPER website Groovy One!
Hey Groovy One! I believe the cover to DareDevil #78 is done by none other then Marie Severin. Or maybe even Sal Buscema with Marie inking it? Marie did many of Marvel's covers from the late 60's through early 70's. She did many of the layouts for the FF covers. John Buscema drew & "Joltin" Joe Sinnott inked.
Hey Groovster!
