Kung Fu Week! Manhunter in "To Duel the Master"

While DC was slow in giving martial arts heroes their own titles, they had a cult hit in Archie Goodwin and Walt Simonson's Manhunter back-ups in Detective Comics. While not a straight-out martial arts strip, Manhunter's martial arts training was an important part of his look and character. Detective Comics #442's (May 1974) "To Duel the Master" brought Manhunter's martial arts training and expertise to the forefront for an excellent action-filled mini-epic.

    In my humble opinion the best art/storytelling (surely inspired by the lively script by Archie Goodwin) by Mr Walter Simonson (EVER!).
    And,yes,he was only 26 years old!
