Our Pal Sal: Daredevil Faces "Death Times Two!"

What it is, Groove-ophiles! Here's an awesome example of the extraordinary artistry of Sal Buscma if there ever was one! It's Daredevil (pre-Frank Miller) at his super-heroiest in a fun page-turner written by Bill Mantlo and inked by Klaus Janson (who had been turning out superb work over Our Pal's pencils for years over on the Defenders). Toss in two incompatible villains, the Beetle and the Gladiator, lots of action, crashes, explosions, and Marvel-style innocent bystanders and you've got yourself one dy-no-mite mag, baby! From Daredevil #140 (September 1976), it's "Death Times Two!" Can you dig it?

Oh, and how 'bout that sweet Dave Cockrum cover, huh?

  1. As a teen in the mid seventies, this has to be my favorite daredevil tale from years gone by.An action lover bonanza, fast plotting, and perhaps some of the best work I've ever seen from our pal SAL,and, lest I forget, the alway'sw crisp inking of one KLAUSE JANSEN.A stand out effort.one that should have been mentioned in HOW TO DO COMICS THE MARVEL WAY.
