Gory greetings, Groove-ophiles! Has Ol' Groove mentioned lately how much he loves the art of Ralph Reese? Well, I do, baby! Here's a primo example of his haunting handiwork from Skywald's Nightmare #5 (cover-dated August 1971). "Slime World", written by Chuck McNaughton, lives up to any and all preconceived notions you might have based on a title like that. Check it out!
Ralph Reese just drove me nuts (in a good way) with his painstackingly intricate pen and ink hatching style.I've never seen this story before. Thanks Groove Agent #1

ReplyDeleteAnd Bob...you said it, brother!
Really wonderful post of a comic I've been looking to re-find since I was a teen. Thanks! I only wish you'd run scans of the first 2 pages that were as good & big as the rest.
ReplyDeleteWe did a cool painting of the cover of this issue years ago... we still have most of my old Horror Comics... You have some wonderful posts !!!
