Black and White Wednesday: "The Mind Within" by Skeates and Brocal

What it is, Groove-ophiles! Back in October, Ol' Groove shared the first of Steve Skeates and Jaime Brocal's legendary Warren horror series The Mummy Walks (if ya think I'm jivin', just click here) and I had planned all along to share more of the mystifying Mummy's adventures with ya. Well, plans sometimes fall by the wayside or are just plain forgotten, but eventually Ol' Groove comes through! What I'm tryin' to say in my long-winded way is here (at last!) is the second Mummy Walks feature (reprinted in Eerie #78, cover-dated October 1976 from Eerie #50, c-d August 1973), "The Mind Within". Dig it!

  1. Thanks (again), Groove. Does this mean there's still a chance that you'll post the follow-up chapters to the Michael Golden Demon story that you posted in the distant past? :-) Seriously, though, I would like to see some more E-Man or Mike Mauser if you'd care to post any.

  2. I'm pretty sure that the follow up chapters to Golden's Demon story (which were drawn by Steve Ditko) are in print right now, as is a complete Charlton-era E-Man collection, so I doubt I'll be doing any of those. Michael Mauser, though, is definitely on the "to do" list. ;D

  3. Wow -- great stuff. And obviously the artist was working off of photos of Karloff as the Mummy. A real treat.

  4. Wait. The E-Man stories have been collected? Is this in a trade paperback or something?

  5. I don't know if it's out yet, but it's supposed to be called E-Man: The Early Years ( so just the Charlton stuff I guess )and published by First ( who are apparently back )
