Making a Splash: Amazing Adventures of the Black Widow

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Whaddya say we groove to and gaze upon the sensational splashes that lead off each of the bodacious Black Widow sagas in her short-lived series in Amazing Adventures (issues 1-8, May 1970-June 1971)? They did feature pulse-pounding pencils by titans John Buscema, Gene Colan, and Don Heck, y'know!






Yeah, Ol' Groove thought you might dig that idea!

    Funny how no one seems to be pitching a Joss Whedon/Scarlett Johansson Black Widow movie.

      Actually, Scarlett Johansson, herself, is actively pitching a BW flick. I think the one-two gut-punch of "Catwoman" and "Electra" might have something to do with the lack of support...

    Black Widow as drawn by Gene Colan was wonderful! Enjoyed it when the Widow co-starred in DareDevil and became Murdock's lover/partner...several issues also illustrated by Colan.Then, Natasha leads the Champions.The character has done so much over the years !

    No disrespect to John Buscema and Don Heck, but Natasha never looked better than when she was drawn by Gene Colan - he really emphasised those curves. And beautifully inked by Bill Everett, too. And to think that these were only the back-up stories.
