Groovy Age Gold: "The Crimes that Couldn't Have Happened!" by Kanigher and Kubert

Greetings, Grooveophiles! It's time once again to spin a bit of Groovy Age Gold, and this time it's a classic Hawkman tale by Bob Kanigher and Joe Kubert. Hawkman and Hawkgirl vs. the Ghost always proved to be a fun read, and "The Crime that Couldn't Have Happened!", reprinted in Wanted #7 (January1972, originally published in Flash Comics #90, cover-dated December 1947) is no exception. Check it out, baby!

  2. I loved the WANTED reprints back when they were coming out. I especially loved the "Solomon Grundy" Green Lantern story in issue 4.

These Golden Age Hawkman reprints continued in the DC 100 pagers, I especially enjoyed the selection of material in DETECTIVE COMICS 438-443.
The reprints in the 70's gave us a good appreciation for the 30-plus years that preceded when we began reading. And despite some expensive editions published in recent decades, I still often prefer reading them in this form.
