Black and White Wednesday: "Same Bat-Time...Same Bat-Channel" by Carl Gafford

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! With all the buzz about Batman '66 (the comic and the far-out toys that are hitting the shelves in the here and now), Ol' Groove thought it might be fun to look back at an article about the TV show that inspired it all via a 1974 article appearing in Amazing World of DC Comics #4! (How's that for time-travel, baby?) Here's Carl Gafford's article, "Same Bat-Time...Same Bat-Channel!", plus a couple'a pulse-pounding pin-ups culled from other issues of AWDCC! Enjoy!

For my thoughts on the 66 Batman TV show, check out this old post.

Oh, and if anyone wants to know what to get Ol' Groove for Christmas this year...

...but I'd "settle" for this...

Hint, hint! My family still reading this?

  1. The Batman TV series always reminds me of growing up in the 70's. It was in heavy reruns off and on and as a kid, I saw it for it's cheesiness but was still a lot of fun to watch. Still shown now on ME TV on Saturdays as there Sci-Fi block along with Voyage to the bottom of the Sea, Star Trek and Lost in Space. Still catch it from time to time.

It's a shame that the kids now will never know the simplicity of the Batman TV series from the 60's it had it's own little kitsch all to itself.

Just to mention I was always a fan of seeing Yvonne Craig as Batgirl.
