Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! Today we're gonna dig the art of
Forgotten Batman artist Bob Brown as inked by one of the masters of mood, Nick Cardy! Ol' Groove thinks they make a great artistic team and turn out a pretty cool
Batman! Top that with a twisty Frank Robbins mystery, and you have "Clues of the False Faces!" from
Detective Comics #430 (October 1972). Dig it!
What a team, I'm going to have to seek this one out - cheers Groove! (Always liked Bob Brown's DD run)
ReplyDeleteThis was one of my very favorite stories from that era! Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteThis is my Batman - not the driven psychopath, but the Frank Robbins (or Deny O'Neil) scripted detective, who remembers how to act like a normal human being. I probably haven't read this story in 30 years, but it all came back in a flash - thanks, Groove!
ReplyDeleteBatman was never a psychopath. What exactly are you referring to when you say that?
DeleteWhoa - I really dig this Bob Brown cat! With art like this how come he's a forgotten Batman artist? Give us more Groove!
ReplyDelete- Mike from Trinidad & Tobago.
