Our Pal Sal: "Second Coming!" by Mantlo and Buscema
Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Well, you've begged, pleaded, and even threatened--so by popular demand, ROM is back in Groove City! Looking back, Ol' Groove can't believe we've only shared one ish (right here) of this Bill Mantlo-written, Our Pal Sal Buscema-penciled-and-inked cult fave, but that situation ends now! What a fitting title for ROM's second ish--and his second appearance on the Diversions! From ROM, Spaceknight #2 (October 1979), witness the..."Second Coming!"
What a great series! It seemed like it was really a labor of love for both Mantlo and Buscema.
ReplyDeleteI initially followed it pretty regularly, but then as I started to move toward my teens, I also slowly started to cull the number of monthly comics I was buying - and Rom was one of the earlier victims. Now I kind of regret not having read the series all the way through, especially since it seems like it will never, ever get reprinted in any format.
