Black and White Wednesday: 'The Games" by McKenzie and Marcos

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! Ol' Groove was just re-reading one of his all-time fave black and white mags, Warren's Creepy #104 (December 1979). Stories by Steve Englehart and Terry Austin (which you can read here), Bob Toomey and Alfredo Alcala, Alex Nino, and more made this special "Robots" issue one of Teen Groove's most treasured mags. Perhaps the best feature in the mag was the first one, "The Games" by Roger (Charlton Arrow and The Creeps) McKenzie and Pablo Marcos. This sci-fi twist on the friendship-forged-by-opposing-gladiators riff still resonates with Ol' Groove to this day. It's one of the most memorable stories I've ever read, and that's no jive, baby!
