Black and White Wednesday: "Bad Day 'Cross 110th Street" by DuBay and Nino

What it is, Groove-ophiles! Here's one'a those "you hadda be there to remember this" strips--Abelmar Jones, from Warren's Eerie. Created by Warren mainstay Bill DuBay, Abelmar Jones could be summed up as "Jimmy Walker as Harry Potter"--that is, if Harry Potter had existed back then. A down-to-earth street kid hooks up with a wizard and ca-razee stuff ensues. Not a bit PC, baby; remember it came out during the days of Good Times and Welcome Back, Kotter, so that's the mindset of the times. Alex Nino's art is gorgeous as always, if a bit cluttered by all of the Dube's captions and balloons. A rarity is a rarity, though, is it not? From Eerie #92 (April 1978), here's a "Bad Day 'Cross 110th Street"!

If you're interested, Abelmar Jones also appeared in Eerie #'s 93, 95, and 128!
