  1. Thanks for posting this Groove! I too was a proud Foomer in my youth. I even submitted my own drawing to the character contest. Sadly, it was not selected for publication. *sniff* I waited (and waited)for Humus Sapiens to show up in a Marvel mag. I have this dim recollection of Stan announcing that he was going to be part of the upcoming all new X-Men book. When GS X-Men #1 came out, I remember being surprised and confused that Mike's creation was nowhere to be found.

  5. Thanks for posting this because I remember this issue! I signed up for F.O.O.M. since the first issue and am very sorry I didn't save them all. Being a kid in the 70's, I was pouring over each and every issue to learn the secrets of Marvel Comics. It's too bad this club didn't continue into the 80's because it would have given us a glimpse of the Jim Shooter years where he was the Editor in Chief.
