The Grooviest Covers of All Time: A Flash In the Spinner-Rack

Flash covers are zany, because the stories were zany and fun. That top one, the one with the Rogues leering atop the giant Flash logo is on my all-time list of greatest covers ever. I got hold of this issue somewhere and just lingered and lingered over that image, elegant and graceful and dynamic. Great stuff!

The late Carmine Infantino was a master at laying out covers. This issue was the final one in his initial run of the Flash. What a way to go.
DeleteGreat eye candy there, Groove. How could you go wrong with such an array of talent gracing these covers? My personal faves are # 174 and 204.
ReplyDeleteThere was this one Neal Adams cover of Flash defending a dog from a hostile mob (March 1970). You've got to wonder about some of those editorial conferences...
ReplyDeleteanything with a neal adams cover gets my attention and the 246 cover doesn't dissappoint. wow! the gil kane cover rocks, but I'm a big gil kane fan. whoever did that 186 cover,man that cat was on his game.
