Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Here's another ish of
Adventures On the Planet of the Apes, the color comic that reprinted the
POTA movie adaptation from Marvel's
POTA b&w mag! "Manhunt!" from ish #3 (September 1975), by Doug Moench, George Tuska, Mike Esposito, and Tony Mortellaro, is an important chapter in
Taylor's saga, and adapts some of the coolest scenes from the classic 1968 flick. Plus
Taylor utters one of the most famous lines in all of pop culture on the final page. Yeah, this is a cool mag, baby!

Yikes!Jefferson Middle School in Ft Wayne is a short bike ride from where I lived when I bought you mag. He launched in 1972, when I was in a different middle school.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love Marvel's Apes comic and magazine, easily in my top five of all time favorites, thanks Groove for the post. I just wish Alfredo Alcala had done more art for the mags, his style fit perfectly.
