Decent Comics: "The Eternity Man" by Wein and Redondo
Check it out, Groove-ophiles! "The Eternity Man" from Swamp Thing #12 (June 1974) by Len Wein and Nestor Redondo. Ol' Groove's got a cold, so I'm not gonna rap, just gonna turn ya loose on a beauty of a comic...
Redondo's style was a perfect fit for this mysterious, macabre title, and I enjoy seeing it--particularly when it's an issue I don't own and I haven't seen before, like this one! Very cool.
I was a big fan of Nestor Redondo. Just when I was assigned to read Green Mansions, by WH Hudson, Rima, The Jungle Girl came out and l fell in love with her and Redondo's art. I actually forgot he did Swampy, although he's perfect for it (him?). I remember Ragman, too, but that migration have been the Kubert covers.
Yeah, Nestor Redondo... Berni Wrightson was a tough act to follow, but he didn't disappoint. That's an impressive achievement. Not to mention also being able to headline a comic - Rima - with back ups by the mighty Alex Nino.
Enjoyed this one a lot Groove - thanks for posting.

I loved this story and actually preferred Redondo over any other Swamp Thing artist. I wish they would publish the whole first series in TPB form.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better soon sir. Take care
