Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Well, today we're gonna take a look at Charlton Comics getting cosmic--via the genius of Tom Sutton! Yep, "Baku the Dream Eater," from Ghostly Haunts #55 (July 1977) makes no bones about its being a part of the Cthulhu Mythos, name dropping both Cthulhu and Soggoth! Dig it!
Never saw this one... Tom Sutton was our favorite illustrator (in comics) since early childhood... good post !!
ReplyDeleteI love this artwork by Tom Sutton. I noticed that in the story they refer to Cuthulu instead of Lovercraft's "Cthulu" and Soggoth instead of "Shoggoth". Obvious references still but interesting the subtle variations. More please!
ReplyDeleteEven though they were written and drawn at great speed, these stories are of a great quality. Thanks for posting Groove.
ReplyDeleteThank you ! Love Tom Sutton. How about posting his story from Marvel Premiere 43 ?
ReplyDeleteCan't get enough of Tom Sutton's Charlton work. Thanks for every installment you give us.
