Black and White Wednesday: "Voodoo Unto Others" by Isabella and Mortimer

Dig it, Groove-ophiles! Remember yesterday's Swamp Thing saga? Ol' Groove mentioned how the Comics Code didn't allow the use of the word "zombie?" Well, Marvel got around that little rule by publishing black and white mags. Especially the one called Tales of the Zombie! How literal is that title? Well the mag starred a zombie named Simon Garth, and ran lots of short back-up features mainly about voodoo and...zombies! Like this one from Tales of the Zombie #2 (June 1973) by Tony Isabella and Win Mortimer called "Voodoo Unto Others!"

  1. I loved all of the b/w horror mags Marvel put out. Tales Of The Zombie, Vampire Tales, Dracula Lives, etc. even later when the color comic Tomb Of Dracula turned into a b/w mag. I always felt that Marvel' s magazine line was their pinnacle.

  2. I always felt like Tales of the Zombie was the best of the bunch with its Vallejo covers and superb Gerber/Marcos team.
