Hank Pym! Scott Lang! Pick your favorite Ant-Man, but here they are in all their Groovy Age splash-page glory from Iron Man #44, Marvel Feature issues 4-10, and Marvel Premiere #47-48!
Delightful! I always thought that the work Trimpe did on Ant-Man was among his best and most exciting. The Ross Andru story which showed up in the back of Iron Man was a dandy also. It was a smart move to make Scott Lang the Ant-Man to allow Hank Pym to follow his next identity, but I miss the classic a bit.
The Michelinie/Byrne/Layton Scott Lang issues were standouts in an Age of Shooter that was already lush with so many other quality products. I liked all the other Ant-Mans you presented, especially the early examples of P. Craig Russell artwork. But Premiere # 47 and 48 clicked on every possible front.
Always I like Ant-Man Pym.
ReplyDeleteLoving that PCraig.
ReplyDeleteSweet! I've always been a big fan of Ant-Man (both versions), and Marvel Premiere #47-48 has to be one of my favorite comic stories of all-time!

ReplyDeleteBeen a huge Ant-Man/Hank Pym fan since like 1970. One of Herb Trimpe's favorite characters too.
