Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! October is the perfect time for a li'l Haunted Love, don'tcha think? Here's a good one from the Boys from Derby Groovy Age team supreme Nick Cuti and Joe Staton. Let's truck on back to April 1973 and meet..."Richard!"

  1. I always enjoy Joe Staton's early more naive style. He's a confident storyteller today but his early work might be less nimble but has a tender charm.

    1. It had a more unique style to it. He started pulling back on his expansive storytelling in favor of a more traditional approach once he took on penciling duties for such titles as Green Lantern. I kiss the inking he used to do on the Hulk and Avengers.

    2. Cuti and Staton never had a miss, always hitting it out of the ballpark.

  2. As soon as I saw the first page, I thought "Wow, was Joe imitating, er, channeling Berni or what?!"

On that note, this might actually be the coolest story I've seen Joe draw. ;-)
