CM # 9's cover was an oddity for its day as they usually had the interior artist draw the cover. It made me wistful for Gene Colan's run on the mag. For those who complain about Vince Colletta, he could at least make bad artists such as Don Heck bearable with his inks.

ReplyDeleteI agree - Don's art was certainly one of the main foundation stones of MARVEL. Wonderfully atmospheric and dynamic storytelling his characters and comics were always a 'treat' for my eyes no matter who inked him - lol even if it was Vinnie.
