Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! It's time for another episode of The Black Orchid! This first chapter of a two-parter, "Operation Frame-Up!" is from the back of Phantom Stranger #35 (November 1974). Nestor Redondo is back on the art, and writer/creator Sheldon Mayer returns to the typewriter...
Haven't read it yet, but it opens with a very strong Redondo illustration. Many other fine panels, but a few look rushed. Even so, Nestor Redondo always held a high drawing standard throughout his career. Great to see these, Groove!

I went back & read it & the whole thing is really a prologue of sorts. The story really hasn't yet begun!

No microchips in that last panel! ;)

I read online that Shelly Mayer had it in mind that Black Orchid was really Supergirl, but never confirmed that in a script. If so, why a second costume & alter ego? Glad this was never official.

Don't forget part two!
