Greetings, Groove-ophiles! It's October AND yesterday (October 1) was the amazing Ramona Fradon's birthday! Let's celebrate by digging on one of the coolest things Ms. Fradon did during her Groovy Age tenure--"Vacation" from Plop! #8 (August 1974), written by David Michelinie (with assist from Russell Carley). Heh...if this "gift" were a cake, it'd be "devil's food!"
Groove, I wanna read this PLOP but am unable to click on the pages on the right hand side, sir!
ReplyDeleteSigh. This is why I've all but stopped sharing any stories at all. I don't understand Blogger's so-called "upgrades" at all. I'm heading to work but will attempt a workaround tonight. Attempt. Rassin' frassin' Blogger...
DeleteGroove, you took the words right outta my mouth--Blogger's so called updates suck! Thanks for posting the story, I never collected PLOP and am curious to read it--hope you have a great day!
DeleteBlogger is a mess these days for me too.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Russell Carley's script continuity credit before with Michael Fleisher. I've read where Fleisher was new to writing comics and he needed help with giving story beats for the artist for guidance on what's going on in each panel. Mike said Russell helped to do that but there was no established definition for what exactly Russell Carley did so they came up with "script continuity" which didn't help clear up anything.
Strange seeing Russell Carley's script continuity credit with a writer other than Mike Fleisher (in this case David Michelinie). I've never seen Carley paired up with a different writer before.
