Way back in the early days of DotGK (two years ago yesterday, t'be exact!), Ol' Groove wrote about how much he dug Rose and the Thorn--but since then, I've not shared a single adventure featuring that Amnesiac Angel. Well, I'm gonna rectify that sitch right here and now, with this classic, creepy, and yeah, kinda campy back-up feature by series creators Robert Kanigher, Ross Andru, and Mike Esposito. ReplyDeleteWOW! I haven't seen or read this since 1970! When I was 9! I always liked Thorn as a boy, but wow! This tale sure was corny! Shades of the old Batman tv series! I never realized Ross Andru was the artist on this Lois Lane back up series.
I wasn't a big fan of his art, but it grew on me when he took over Spider-Man. About a year after he was on it. I think his Superman vs Spider-Man is what got me to like his artwork. Any way I still loved the Thorn as a boy. I forgot her alter-ego was a short haired blonde. Sort of like Black Canary & Batgirl's Barbra Gordon both wore wigs.
I loved those Rose and Thorn stories.
