If ya wanna give Ol' Groove the creeps, ghost, goblins, and things that go bump in the night don't cut it. If ya wanna get me, give me something real. Something that could happen next door--or at a hotel Alfred Hitchcock might feel comfortable in. Something like this creepy classic from Marvel's Haunt of Horror #2 (May 1974) by Doug Moench, Gene Colan, and Frank Chiarmonte. Something like "Gran'ma Died Last Year"!
Hey Groovster
ReplyDeleteI used to know the owner of this story. I had never seen it. He was nice enough to send me very nice xeroes on a heavy stock paper & the actual size. Very creepy story, now I know why I never had kids! LOL
The original washes look fantastic. Wash art always looks great in person. The published material never looks as good. It loses it's depth 3-D effect. I know my Man-God pgs look much better then the printered material also. I love B & W wednesdays!
What a grim little tale. I didn't expect the kid to pop himself at the end.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this ... aside from Tomb of Dracula I'm not widely familiar with the Exorcist-fueled explosion of horror titles Marvel published in the 1970s. Always nice to read a Doug Moench script, and the deeply-missed Gene Colan never disappoints.
Wonderful Archives !! And an enjoyable read!
