Weird Worlds Week! Addicted to Alex Nino: "The Hot Spot" by Kanigher and Nino

Weird Worlds Week rockets right along to an asteroid "beyond the stars!", Groove-ophiles! It's time to plant our peepers on more far-out psychedelic art by the amazing Alex Nino! Alex let it all hang out on the art for this sci-fi short from the back of Rima, the Jungle Girl #3 (May 1975). (Rima, the Jungle Girl? Sheesh!) Written by Robert  Kanigher, here's "The Hot Spot"!

  2. This stuff is so gorgeous. Nino was truly a master of psychedelic SF illustration.
And yes, it's kind of hard to believe that this Space Voyagers feature was a back-up in Rima.

  3. Now I wish I had bothered to get Rima, Jungle Girl comics! By the way, Rima was based on a character from the novel Green Mansions, by William Hudson. But I've never been convinced that Rima was merely a female Tarzan.
