Setting the Pace: "Moonbound!" by Kraft, Perez, and Kida

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Are we already preparing to rap about Dave Kraft and George (Pace-Setter) Perez' final Man-Wolf installment for Creatures On the Loose? My, how the time do fly! But sure 'nuff, here 'tis! "Moonbound" from CotL #37 (June 1975)! Notice the inks by Golden Age artist Fred Kida. You can still see Perez' style shining through, but it's a lot different than when he was inked by Klaus Janson or Frank McLaughlin...

And that's all, folks! But never fear, Groove-ophile! DAK was kind enough to fill us in on what he and the Pace-Setter had in mind for the wrap-up of their cosmic werewolf tale, right there in the back pages of that self-same issue of CotL (just like the box on the last page says!)! Dig it!

But wait, there's more! Marvel never left us hangin' for too long back in the Groovy Age! Kraft and Perez were finally able to complete their Man-Wolf saga a mere thirty-nine months later in the pages of Marvel Premiere! Ya wanna see? Hang in there, heroes!

  1. Man-Wolf by Kraft & Perez right off the bat! Is this the beginning of another "Edo Week?" ;)

Otherwise, I was there 39 months later. The conclusion to the story in the pages of Marvel Premiere was my introduction to "Man Wolf in space." Back then I had no idea there was a whole set of stories that preceded his MP appearances. Which, of course, leads me to my - by now traditional - whine: oh, please, Marvel, give us a Man Wolf collection!
