Making a Splash: Bob Brown and Tom's Sutton's Warlock, Plus...
Happy Holidays, Groove-ophiles! I know you know that Ol' Groove loves all things Adam Warlock, but did you know that Bob Brown, best known for his art on Challengers of the Unknown, Batman, Avengers, and Daredevil was once the regular artist on Warlock's short-lived but immortal mag? 'Tis True, Bob drew issues 6-8 (March-July 1973)! Of course, Tom Sutton inked all eight issues of The Power of Warlock, so he kept things going strong through the change-over from Gil Kane to Bob Brown. Check it out, baby!

Good to see Bob Brown artwork anytime. Brown is one of the forgotten rock solid talents in comics, a guy who hit his marks month in and month out. I always found Brown's storytelling easy to follow and his figures underrated. The guy had a powerful and distinctive style which deserves more applause.
