Dig it, Groove-ophiles! Though it only lasted two issues, Atlas/Seaboard's Weird Tales of the Macabre was loaded with lots of far-out and fiendishly freaky fables. One of 'em, from ish #1 (October 1974), is a cult-ish classic with it's take on the old Vanishing Hitchhiker urban myth, mixed with a simply Seventies serving of Satanism. This one's kinda gory, so look out as Ramon Torrents warns of the evil that is..."A Second Life!"
Great story Groove, kinda reminds me of classic Skywald fare, and Torrents did in fact illustrate a few tales for the Horror Mood. Do we know who wrote the script?
