Black and White Wednesday: "Stainless Steel Savior" by Wein and Duranona
Dig it, Groove-ophiles! Here's a rare Len Wein-authored Warren sci-fi tale from Creepy #107 (March 1979), with art by Leo Duranona. Meet the..."Stainless Steel Savior!"
Wow, amazing story! In the grokvy age I wondered how to pronounce the name I often saw-ween, wine, wayne. I settled on quickly saying "Lin Win". I always liked his stories.
Vampirella #10, 45 and 75; Creepy #92, 100, 105, 107, 118, 121, 1984 #5. I might've have missed one, but that's pretty much it for Wein's Warren work. Two others are here on the Diversions: http://diversionsofthegroovykind.blogspot.com/2014/02/black-and-white-wednesday-box-by-wein.html and http://diversionsofthegroovykind.blogspot.com/2015/12/black-and-white-wednesday-always-leave.html

ReplyDeleteLen Wein really got around. This is the first Warren story of his I've ever seen (were there any others?).
