Metal Mondays: "The Master Machinations of the Missile Men!" by Conway and Staton

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Gerry Conway and Joe Staton are still at it with those ka-razee Metal Men! This time, our fave 'bots meet the Inheritor, "the world's first true android"--and possibly Doc Magnus' replacement for the Metal Men. All this to fight..."The Master Machinations of the Missile Men!"? Let's head back to September 1977 (and Metal Men #55) to find out!

Metal Mondays: "After the Ending" by Conway and Staton

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! With Metal Men #54 (July 1977) Gerry Conway returned as writer, teaming with now-regular artist Joe Staton for stories that were still a bit wacky, but not quite as idiosyncratic former author Martin Pasko's. Oh, and dig the guest-appearance by Hal Jordan-- Green Lantern! Joe Staton's dream was to draw Green Lantern, and this story was Joe's second shot at the Emerald Gladiator (the first one you can read here). Soon, Joe would be drawing GL's short-lived series in the early Dollar Comics issues of  Adventure Comics, which would lead to a long stint on Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps during the late 70s/early 80s. But all of that's way in the future! Let's go back to the Summer of 77 and dig on "After the Ending"!

Metal Mondays: "The Hand That Shocks the Cradle Rules the World!" by Pasko and Staton

Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Metal Monday is back is back with the conclusion to the Metal Men/Dr. Strangeglove mini-epic from Metal Men #53 (May 1977). This time our mad scientist unleashes his Brain Children on Doc Magnus and company in all their weird, wacky glory! Only Martin Pasko and Joe Staton would dare tell the tale of..."The Hand That Shocks the Cradle Rules the World!"
