Black and White Wednesday: "The Beginning of the End" by Thomas and Simonson

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! Let's head back to an Age Undreamed via Roy Thomas and Walt Simonson's awe-inspiring adaptation of Robert E. Howard's "The Hyborian Age". From Savage Sword of Conan #15 (September 1976) here's "The Beginning of the End"!

  1. Lovely; one complaint I have with the Dark Horse phonebooks that reprint Savage Sword is that they only carry the Conan stories. I would really love to have these as well.

  2. I know it's heresy in some circles, but I never got the whole Conan thing. There's a depressing sameness to all of the stories; if you've seen one cleaved skull, you've really seen them all.

  3. Well Bob Conan ain't for everyone! You have to give credit to REH and Roy Thomas, though - Conan is the granddaddy of all Sword & Sorcery literature. It's popular now mainly because of this character.
