What it is, Groove-ophiles! Ya know how Ol' Groove loves the art of Alex Nino, and lemme tell ya, it's hard to find Alex's art any cooler or wilder than when he's doing a sci-fi shocker! With "The Lonely Road to Life", from Weird War Tales #70 (September 1978), writer Jack Oleck gave the amazing Mr. Nino plenty to cut loose on! Hoo-hah!

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!

ReplyDeleteCan you imagine if Alex was given a crack at the Fantastic Four in the 70's ? The Negative Zone, Mole Man, Dr Doom, Galactis? Wow ! That would have been the greatest comics magazine.
