12 Days of Christmas 2010! Groove's Faves: "Chrismas in an Outlaw Town" by Fleisher and Spiegle
Season's Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Ol' Santa Groove is kickin' it into high gear, now 'cause tomorrow's Christmas Eve! For today's stocking stuffer, we're going back to the Old West via DC's Jonah Hex #34 (December 1979). Writer Michael Fleisher and artist Dan Spiegle really make it rough on Old Saint Nick as Jonah dishes out his own inimitable brand of justice. Saddle up your hoss, hombre! We headin' for a "Christmas in an Outlaw Town"!

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!

Hiya, Groove! Once again wee're on the same wavelength, as I only recently purchased a huge run of Jonah Hex and Scalphunter. Every comic needs a Christma story, and Hex's is a fine one, indeed; it's also got that Hex "feeling", as it fits in perfectly with the Fleisher style.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you, ol' Groove and to all your readers, too! May the '70s keep you well this season! ;)
Don't know about you, Groove, but Luis Dominguez's cover kicked more ass than the story itself.
