R.I.P. Dear Ol' Dad

Greetings, Groove-ophiles. Just stopping in for a moment to let you know Ol' Groove will be taking most--or all--of this week off to take care of family matters. Dear Ol' Dad passed away this morning (8/3/13), so I'm going to be very busy for the next few days. I hope to get things going on schedule again by the end of this week or the first of the next. Until then, please check out this short but heartfelt post from Father's Day 2009 dedicated to Dear Ol' Dad. He was and is my hero.

I lost my dad 7 years ago and will miss him for the rest of my life.
His death made me realize a LOT about myself, and about my father's contribution to my character, personality, and values.

Take care, take your time, enjoy life.

  23. Hi Lloyd
It's always sad when we lose anyone. But especially a parent, as many have already said. Take your time, we'll all be here when you get back. I'd like to thank your father too. Without a groovy guy like you. We wouldn't have had so many hours/years of enjoyment. Coming here to your far out site. Giving us great childhood/teen memories. As well as exposing new generations. To this fun filled, action packed daily great escape. To a simpler time. You & your family are all in our thoughts & prayers. Nuff said!

  25. I never commented here, but since you make my life happier every week for years I thought I should give a big hello from Rio de Janeiro in this moment of sadness. "Para o alto e avante!" This is Superman's motto here in Brazil.

  43. I am shocked to read this. When I saw the link, I was hoping it had something to do with a comic story, and was not what it ended up being; don't want that to sound wrong- just that this is very sad; my heart sank for you.

I've stopped by your blog, off and on, and it is really entertaining. You seem like such an enthusiastic and great person, and this is too much. You put forth such a wonderful attitude- in sharp contrast to my heavy pessimism. It is a nice thing, and genuinely seems honest.

Everyone says 'sorry', and I know it's a standard response- what else is one really supposed to say- but it just seems that something like losing a Dad, who brought you into this world as a new being, well-- there is no way saying 'I'm sorry.' can cover something like that.

This is a long commentary, I know. My Dad had a birthday just after this happened with yours, and so I really wanted to say something, even if it can not be enough. I think that people ought to consider their parents and others that they love more- especially seeing that this world is in an increasingly bad place; not in some kind of 'kumbaya', trite kind of way-- NO-- in a sincere, uninhibited, and honest kind of way.

'Groove': Please let your heart be Well. Concentrate on yourself-- to care for the situation and YOU; it's infinitely important and real. You should take the time you need. Perhaps the enjoyment of doing this blog will end up helping you, as well.

I hope that what I said is understood, and my words are worthy.

I Sincerely Wish You Care and Love.

    - ADAM
