What it is, Groove-ophiles! Been a while since we did a TWO-FER TUESDAY, hasn't it? Well, let's do this thang and do it right! Here are two far-out fantasy featurettes from one of the all-time greats, Wally Wood, exhumed from the pulpy pages of Marvel's ancient mystery-mag Tower of Shadows!
First up, check out "Flight into Fear!" from ToS #5 (February 1970)...
...And we'll wind things up with "The Ghost-Beast!" from ToS #6 (April 1970)!
Makes ya wonder why Marvel never got Woody to do a Conan saga while they had the chance, dunnit? Pax!

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!

ReplyDeleteIt's not even Halloween & I get to see more great childhood monster stories! AWESOME!
If comics were more like this, I'd still be reading them....
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed seeing these stories again, but noticed that the first panels on pages 2 & 3 of "Ghost Beast" are swipes from Frazetta's THUN'DA #1.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I'm concerned, There's Jack Kirby, Gil Kane & Wally Wood.
ReplyDeleteThen there's everybody else.
