Funny Stuff: "The Close Shaves of Pauline Peril" by Connell and Manning

Check it out, Groove-ophiles! Here's a short-lived but oh-so-hip and cool comic from Gold Key: The Close Shaves of Pauline Peril #1 (March 1970). Written and created by Disney/Gold Key great Del Connell (creator of Super Goof and Space Family Robinson/Lost In Space, to boot!) and illustrated by Hanna-Barbera/Dell/Gold Key stalwart (and quite an artistic innovator as you'll see in the following pages) Jack Manning, Pauline Peril was another in the line of Paulines (and Penelopes and Loises and...you get the idea) who get into--well--perilous situations that make for fun comicbook reading. This Pauline is a mod, with-it reporter for the Daily Noose (which just happens to be owned by her uncle) whose editor wants her dead (because he'll just happen to gain ownership of the Noose with Pauline out of the way) and who goes on exciting adventures to bring us the news. The mag lasted only four issues, but it deserved to run much longer. Whaddya think?
