MOKF Monday: "The Pride of Leopards" by Moench, Zeck, and Day

Hi-YAA, Groove-ophiles! Are we ever cookin' with peanut oil now! The return of Fu Manchu is imminent, mysteries surrounding Manchu's plans deepen, and we get action galore in Doug Moench, Mike Zeck, and Gene Day's "The Pride of the Leopards" from Master of Kung Fu #80 (July 1979). Dig it!!

  1. Yep, I was hooked on MoKF by this point: I just love that cover, and I loved it when Shang Chi quoted Jagger.

  2. Did you notice that Erik Larsen and Bruce Timm have produced a Treasury sized comic called "Giant Size Kung Fu Bible Stories"? Looks just like an old Marvel Treasury. I might've ordered it, but, sadly there is no Kung Fu and no Bible story, just superheroes. Too bad; I had a picture in my head of Apostles out for vengeance.

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!
