Addicted to Alex Nino: "Fish Story" by Oleck and Nino

Dig it, Groove-ophiles! It's been way too long since we perused an awesomely illustrated Alex Nino number, hasn't it? Well, I'm sure Ol' Groove won't have to use any bait to get you to read this short shocker written by Jack Oleck for the first issue of Secrets of the Haunted House #1 (January 1975). Have we got a "Fish Story" for you!

  1. Looks like this is missing the splash page that would set this up.

  2. A great, compact horror tale with a genius twist, exquisitely rendered by the one & only ALEX NINO! I can stare at his work all day long...and I have!

  3. Great Alex Nino art. Typical, torturous, over-written Jack Oleck "surprise" ending. I used to cringe when I saw his name in the credits of the mystery books.

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!
