Sunday Funnies: Betty Loves Archie

It's the day after Valentine's Day, and Ol' Groove's thinking there might be some lonely hearts out there in Groovy-land. Cheer up! Though your heart might need mending, at least you haven't been carrying the same, unappreciated, unattainable torch for a half-century or so, have ya? Have ya? We all know sweet Betty Cooper's been carrying a torch for one red-haired, freckle face named Archie Andrews for longer than a most of us have been alive, and where has it gotten her? Famous, that's what! Everybody knows her, everyone roots for her, and she never, ever gives up. How's that for inspiration? So get out there and chase that dream(boat)! Well, chase 'em after you've read these smile-makers from Betty & Veronica #s 165 (July, 1969) and 168 (September, 1969), that is!

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!
