Groovy Christmases Past! Groove's Faves: "Dirty Job" by Haney and Toth

Hidden in the pages of the truly outstanding Our Army at War #241 (December 1971) is "Dirty Job" by Bob Haney and Alex Toth. This strip works on every level you can imagine, and Ol' Groove can't think of a better way to say "Merry Christmas, Groove-ophiles!" than to share this masterpiece with ya.

May you and your loved ones enjoy the best Christmas ever!

  5. Good story, but more appropriate for Easter than Christmas.

  6. Groovy Christmas to you, cerebus660!

And you're right, o Anonymous one, but I subscribe to the same stance as my pal Rick Phillips (of Mail It to Team-up fame), and I hope he doesn't mind my quoting him... "Most would consider this an Easter story and they would be correct. However, it is also a Christmas story. After all Christmas has no meaning without Easter and Easter has no meaning without Christmas. These holidays are connected to each other for all time."

    Groovy Christmas to all!!

  7. Marvellous, oft-reprinted story, as it well should be. Truly great, both story and art---and in only four pages.
