Black and White Wednesday: "...And Why the Sea is Boiling Hot?" by Cuti and Staton

What's happening, Groove-ophiles! Here's another forgotten gem, this one starring Nick Cuti and Joe Staton's immortal E-Man. After E-Man's magnificent but all-too-short-lived mag bit the dust, there was still a hue and cry from fandom for more tales featuring Alec Tronn, Nova Kane, and Michael Mouser. Lucky for us, Bob Layton, then-editor of Charlton's FOOM-like fan-mag Charlton Bullseye, was listening and ran the following 10 page charmer in the fourth issue of that hard-to-find mag. And lucky for you, baby, Ol' Groove's got it! Let's travel back to late 1975, shall we? We can learn such marvelous things! Things like how far-out is Nick Cuti's writing? How awesome is Joe Staton's art in black and white? How cool is E-Man? "...And Why Is the Sea Boiling Hot?"

  1. Super sweet! This is the hidden gem of the E-Man run. I was lucky and struck a copy early in the 80's, but I'm still chasing Bullseye #2 with the E-Man cover!

For folks wanting a hard copy in color for relative cheap if you can find it, this story was reprinted by First Comics in its Original E-Man run.
