Shades of Gray Tuesday Two-Fer: "Missing Link!" and "Haunted Gallery" by Gray Morrow
Dig it, Groove-ophiles! It's been a while since we dug some groovy Gray Morrow masterpieces, so here are two gems from Chilling Adventure in Sorcery #3 (August 1973), the first Red Circle ish in which Master Morrow takes over writing, editing, drawing, even lettering, and possibly coloring the whole sinister she-bang! Are your eyes prepared for the magnificence of Morrow? Then...onward!

These are so awesome!
ReplyDeleteCool! Although I predicted the end of 'Missing Link' pretty easily, Gray Morrow's artwork and pacing made the story fun to read all the way through.
ReplyDelete'Haunted Gallery' reminded me a little of Poe's 'The Telltale Heart,' but without the supernatural twist... except WITH a supernatural twist all it's own, after all. Very fun.
I was a bit too young to see these when they were new (I'd first seen Morrow's work in the Charlton Space: 1999 black-and-white mags from the mid 1970's)... it's great to see other, earlier work of his. Thanks for posting!
