Random Reads: "Seeing-Eye Man" by Unknown and Celardo

You want more Gold Key? You got more Gold Key, Groove-ophiles! Now Ol' Groove is knows even less about most Gold Key creators than he does about most anything else (dang, what a dummy!), but he does know good comics when he sees 'em! T'was a rare time, I'll admit, when Young Groove bought a Gold Key mag, but when he did, it was a good'un! Take Twilight Zone #52, f'rinstance. Besides a cool lead-feature starring Abraham Lincoln (which we'll get around to sharing one'a these fine days), the cover story (who did that far-out cover, anyway?), illustrated by John Celardo, was a hoot of a sci-fi tale. From Twilight Zone #52 (July 1973), here comes the..."Seeing-Eye Man"!

  4. Who doesn't enjoy those Gold Key mysteries from the Twilight Zone to Doctor Solar and even the Boris Karloff Tales of Mystery. Since so many great suggestions are being thrown around, how about some Gold Key Mystery digest size posts.

  7. Excellent work, thank you Groove. That's probably the best story I've read from the Twilight Zone comic and it also captures the feel of the show itself.

  9. Bummer!! That alien really had a long string of bad luck! I missed this some how when you originally posted this saga. Always dug the TZ. I always bought them. When and if I could even find them. Usually in those plastic bags with three comics in them. I just wish Marvel had done them in their B & W magazine format. With some top writers & artists. Keep e'm coming Groovster always dug this series!!

As for the rest of ya, the purpose of this blog is to (re)introduce you to the great comics of the 1970s. If you like what you see, do what I do--go to a comics shop, bookstore, e-Bay or whatever and BUY YOUR OWN!
